Hair Salon Receptionist Job Description Position: Hair Salon Receptionist Location: 2203 Southern Avenue. Fay. NC, 28306 Reports To: Salon Manager Overview The Hair Salon Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients, providing a warm, welcoming, and professional atmosphere. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills to manage the salon's daily operations, including scheduling appointments, handling customer inquiries, and supporting salon staff as needed. Responsibilities 1. Client Reception Greet clients upon arrival, making them feel welcome and comfortable. Answer phone calls and emails, responding to inquiries or redirecting calls to the appropriate team members. 2. Appointment Scheduling Manage and coordinate client appointments using the salon's scheduling software. Confirm and remind clients of their appointments, rescheduling as necessary. Inform stylists and other salon professionals of their upcoming appointments. 3. Customer Service Provide knowledgeable responses to client questions about services, pricing, and promotions. Address and resolve any client concerns or complaints in a professional manner. 4. Point of Sale (POS) Operations Handle payment transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and other forms of payment. Process gift cards, vouchers, and handle any discounts or promotions as directed. 5. Administrative Support Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area and salon. Assist in managing inventory of salon products, updating stock levels as needed. Support salon staff with other tasks, such as filing, printing, or other administrative duties. 6. Sales and Promotions Inform clients about salon products, retail items, and promotions. Upsell products and services where appropriate. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a salon, retail, or hospitality setting preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficiency in basic computer operations and scheduling software.
