Actalent Senior Electrical Project Manager in Farmington, Connecticut

Job Title: Senior Electrical Project ManagerJob Description

The Senior Electrical Project Manager will oversee the budget, schedule, and execution of complex electrical construction projects ranging from $10-$30 million in industries such as education, life science, manufacturing, healthcare, and data centers. With over 7 years of experience, the candidate will manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of multiple and simultaneous projects, ensuring successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of project life cycle for multiple projects.

  • Act as the primary contact with clients to deliver projects.

  • Participate in transitional meetings with estimating and business development teams.

  • Review plans and specifications to gain understanding of the project.

  • Develop and maintain detailed work breakdown structure integrated with project schedule.

  • Coordinate and interface with all project team members while promoting open communication.

  • Collaborate with supporting departments to define and manage deliverables.

  • Organize all project documents and drawings using designated software.

  • Accurately forecast project costs, expenses, and resource utilization.

  • Manage and direct subcontractors and oversee material procurement.

  • Handle day-to-day administrative items such as change directives, RFIs, submittals, contracts, and change orders.

  • Lead periodic project meetings both internally and with the customer.

  • Implement lessons learned and strive for continuous improvement while embracing technology enhancements.

  • Perform project closeout and cost reconciliation.

Essential Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical commercial and Data Center Electrical construction.

  • Experience processing RFIs, take-offs, and reading drawings.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • High level of integrity with critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

  • Experience with scheduling software is desirable.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in the electrical construction industry or related experience.

  • Experience as a Project Manager in electrical contracting.

  • Ability to understand electrical blueprints, diagrams, specifications, proposals, and contractual documentation.

Work Environment

This position requires on-site work at Princeton with trips to the office. The candidate will have their own desk and computer area in the site trailer. The role involves managing two projects: ES&C (Environmental Sciences and Commons) wrapping up in Q2 2025 and BIOE (Biology) looking through the end of 2025. Most equipment is already in place.
