Farmingdale State College invites applications for the newly created role of Assistant Dean of the School of Engineering Technology Division of Computing. This position reports directly to the Dean and is responsible for both managerial and leadership activities within the Division. Key responsibilities include faculty development, budget planning, curricular oversight, and accreditation processes. The Assistant Dean will work collaboratively with Division Program Coordinators and staff to support approximately 800 students across baccalaureate programs in Computer Science, Computer Programming and Information Systems, Computer Security Technology, and Security Systems. Successful candidates will demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to advance the College's newest academic unit.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in a computing-related discipline.
7 years of full-time teaching experience in a computing-related program.
A record of academic leadership, such as department chair, assistant chair, program coordinator or related roles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with instructional technologies and learning management systems, such as Brightspace.
Experience with Accreditation, including ABET.
Cultivating synergy across related academic programs.
Experience in developing and launch of new curricula and programs in relevant fields.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, 12-month UUP position.
For the first 10 working days, beginning Monday, December 2, 2024, and ending Friday, December 13, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Friday, January 31, 2025
SALARY: $135,000 + $4,000 in downstate location pay = $139,000 Total Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
ANTICIPATED START DATE: Fall semester 2025
