Job Summary:

The Assistant Front Office Manager is responsible for running the day-to-day operations and leadership of the Front desk and Bell departments. This position is responsible for handling many of the administrative and operational duties of maintaining the Front Office Department. Customer service is a key responsibility, from guest arrival to departure, to provide the highest standards of courteous service while meeting and exceeding profit levels. Communicates effectively, in writing and verbally, to provide clear direction to staff. Observes performance and encourages improvement, Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, evaluates, counsels and administers progressive disciplinary procedures for front desk staff to ensure that the high standards of quality are met. Interacts positively with guests and takes action to resolve issues to the satisfaction of guest/resort standards.

Job Specifications:

  • The budgeted range starts at $55,000 - $60,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Distribute and delegate work load to guarantee maximum production and guest satisfaction with minimum outlay of expenses in terms of labor.

  • Investigate complaints, evaluate corrective actions and implement plan to resolve and de-escalate conflicts.

  • Communicate effectively to provide clear direction to your team and co departments.

  • Manage finances of Front office operations including budget, forecasts and inventory.

  • Work with VR Leadership to maximize revenue & minimize expenses while providing the highest level of guest service.

  • Provide staffing, training, counseling and performance review for the Front Office department.

  • Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters. Celebrate exceptional service and encourage when improvement is needed.

  • Guest Service measured through surveys for both guests and employees is paramount

  • Comply with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation.

  • Solicit employee feedback and review employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns. Help drive a positive work environment and culture.

  • Emphasize guest satisfaction- during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement while ensuring good safety practices for employees and guests.

  • Maintaining a high level of professional appearance, demeanor and ethics in dealing with both guests, co-workers and subordinates.

  • Capital budget, perform any additional tasks or projects as required.

  • Ability to drive and execute new programs while being thorough and efficient.

  • Able to schedule staff effectively and efficiently with CPOR/HPOR

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in managing a hotel/resort Front Office department

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Supervisory/ Management/Assistant

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Advanced ability in English

  • Good communication, organization and time management skills.

  • Lift weight from 25-50 lbs

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 hotel operations

  • BA - preferred

The expected pay range is $55,000 - $60,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
