Job Description

An employer is looking for a REMOTE cleared Sr. Network Firewall Engineer. They will be part of a team, responsible for designing, implementing and troubleshooting firewall infrastructures, both on-premise and cloud environments. They will develop and implement firewall solutions with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies. Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, and security policies. Meet with cloud engineering tams to implement firewall and security solutions in AWS environment. Respond to firewall-related incidents and address vulnerabilities. Ensure firewall configurations and operations comply with security standards. Work closely with network engineers, cloud architects and security teams to align firewall management. Provide guidance to more junior engineers on network and firewall best practices.

Skills and Requirements

- Active secret clearance

- Bachelors degree Cyber, IT, Computer Science, or related field

- 5+ years of experience in networking with configuring firewalls and routers/switches

- Knowledge of load balancing, network security principles, network protocols

- Hands-on experience with implementing firewall solutions in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

- Experience with network/gateway devices (Bluecoat Proxy)

- Current security + certification

- CCNA certification - CCNP, PCNSE

- Cloud certifications

- Experience with IPS, IDS, DPI, etc

- Experience with automation and scripting (python, ansible)

- Familiarity with security frameworks

- Knowledge of network monitoring tools null
