Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to gather requirements to understand the business needs and mission objectives.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to understand user needs and behaviors.

  • Translate requirements and user research insights into design solutions, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

  • Collaborate with developers, communication, and other stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.

  • Create and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all platforms and products.

  • Iterate on designs based on feedback from users, team members, and other stakeholders.

  • Develop updated designs for the current product to create a cohesive offering.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in product design, user experience, and technology.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline

Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience in Product Design, UX/UI design; certification preferably

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.

  • Experience with motion design and creating interactive prototypes.

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.

  • Strong understanding of branding and its impact on user experience.

  • Excellent visual design skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about design challenges.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, or similar.

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
