Job Title: Mixer Operator
Job Description
The Mixer Operator is responsible for making batches of material in accordance with customer and company specifications. This role includes weighing materials, cleaning the mixing area, and troubleshooting any mixing problems. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Manager or Group Leader as necessary.
Responsibilities
Review Mixing Schedule
Produce batches in mixer as scheduled
Inspect reconditioned drums prior to use
Dump batches from mixers
Communicate with the previous mixerman to discuss any irregularities or special instructions
Produce standard production batches by following the Mixing Procedure
Stop immediately and notify Group Leader and QA if any abnormalities occur
Maintain correct identification on batches
Complete necessary paperwork correctly and timely, including batch tickets and mixing dump reports
Inform Manager of any unidentified or mis-identified batches, drums, or raw materials, safety concerns, and maintenance concerns
Essential Skills
1-3 years of experience in mixing, batching, compounding, chemical handling, machine operation, and blending
1-3 years of experience as a Batching Operator
Forklift operation
Production and batch documentation
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must be able to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly
Comfortable working in a facility with strong odor
Must be able to pass a skills key test
Must be able to pass an audiogram test
High school diploma/GED or equivalent
Prior industrial cleaning or housekeeping experience
Chemical manufacturing experience
Forklift experience (optional)
Work Environment
This role is based in a chemical plant primarily producing automotive materials. The environment is climate-controlled, and team members will be exposed to moving equipment, noise, fumes, vibrations, and dust. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Shifts are 8-10 hours long, and mandatory weekend work may be required. Safety PPE, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and earbuds, is provided.
Starting $23.25/hr 2nd and 3rd shift! + $4/hr increase when moving from a B-Level to A-Level Mixer in Evansville, IN
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $23.25/hr.
