DESCRIPTION:

As a Mechanic at Frontier-Kemper, reporting tothe Mechanical Superintendent you will have the opportunity to RepairandmaintainallFrontier-Kemperequipmentwhilecontributingtotheoverallatmospherewithapositive,safetyconscious,andproactiveattitude.Mechanicswillalsoworkonthe constructionofnewOEMequipmentprovidedtooutsidecustomersbyFrontier-Kemper’sLakeshoredivision

• Mechanical,hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs to Frontier-Kemperequipment.

• Executing planned preventativemaintenance on Frontier-Kemperequipment.

• Operationofheavyconstructionequipmentforthepurposesofidentifying,diagnosing,andrepairing reportedproblems.

• Testingandevaluatingequipmenttoassessdamageandwear.

• Periodic light welding as it pertains to equipmentrepairs.

• Periodicfacilitymaintenanceandrepairs toworkareasintheshop.

• ParticipatewithalldepartmentsofFKCItoimproveefficiency,quality,andsafety.

• Work overtime asneeded.

• Traveltojobstoperformrepairsorhelpfacilitatejobsetupasrequired.

• Mustcomplywithallcompanypoliciesandbeabletoworkinawaythatdoesnotposeathreatto themselves andothers.

• Efficiently and accurately complete work assigned bymanagement.

• Performthephysicalrequirementsofwalkingonunevensurfaces,standingconstantlyonahardsurface,climbingstairsorladders,reaching,bending,andkneeling.

• Mustbeabletoworkoutsideinallweatherconditions.

• Other duties asassigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma orGED.

• Fiveor moreyears’ experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment

• Must supply owntools.

• Excellent communication and interpersonalskills.

• Familiarwithshoppracticesincludingmachinework,mechanicalrepairandsteelfabrication.

• Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solvingskills.

• Abilitytounderstandandinterpretmachinemanuals,technicaldrawings,andschematics.

• Abilitytounderstand,troubleshootandrepairhydraulic,pneumatic,andmechanicalsystems.

• Ability to communicate with otherseffectively andworkinacollaborativemannerwithmultipleteammembersindifferentdepartments.

• Abilitytohandlemultipletasksinafast-pacedenvironment.

• Familiarwithandtheabilitytoexecuteplannedpreventativemaintenanceprograms.

• Experiencewithmechanical,hydraulicandpneumaticsystemspreferred.

• Certification/Degree in Heavy equipment mechanical maintenance or similar field preferred.
