Department Summary

​​The Computer Science (CS) Department in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oregon offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Computer Science. Instruction is provided by 16 tenure track faculty, and 6 career instructor faculty. The department serves about 600 undergraduate and 90 graduate majors and offers several general education classes in the discipline. The primary research foci of the tenure track faculty are high-performance computing, data science, networking, and distributed systems with cross-cutting concerns of security and privacy.  ​ 

​Oregon Network Research Group (ONRG) is a research group within the CS Department that primarily focuses on networking and networking measurement research. 

​Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence is a state-funded center at UO that focuses on a range of Cybersecurity activities including workforce development and services.

Position Summary

The Network Research Analyst will initiate, contribute, or lead the planning and execution of various tasks in the Oregon Network Research Group (ORNG) and Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (OCCoE). This position will coordinate and manage research projects, experimental studies, and collaborations with parties inside and outside the university for ORNG. This position will also mentor and evaluate graduate and undergraduate students.

The Network Research Analyst also contributes and leads a range of activities including proposal development, conducting studies and analysis related to Cybersecurity for OCCoE, while coordinating, and collaborating with OCCoE members (at University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and Portland State University) and partners.

Minimum Requirements

• Master's degree in computer science or a related field

• Experience in network systems and cybersecurity

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in computer science or a related field

• Strong publication record in top tier networking, or cybersecurity conferences and journals.

• Experience with data plane telemetry, systems, and their applications.

• Experience with developing proposals

• Experience in designing, developing, and evaluating network and cybersecurity systems/solutions.
