Saint-Gobain Logistics Manager in ENNIS, Texas

Manage all Shipping and Warehouse activities for Finished Goods and Raw Materials. Responsible for all EHS matters relating to the operation of the warehouse, shipping and receiving. Lead efforts to meet Plants’ Objectives for Shipping/Inventory Accuracy and ensure Customer Fulfillment Rates are being achieved using the SAP Platform while following Saint-Gobain’s Inventory Control Guidelines and Logistics Standard Operating Procedures. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:--

  • Lead all EHS efforts within the Department to prevent accidents and injuries to all plant employees.

  • Manage Finished Goods Inventory Accuracy at the bin level, Stock Record Accuracy

  • Support Finished Goods Inventory Targets/Levels.

  • Oversee Finished Goods Cycle Counting Weekly Activities.

  • Manage Annual Finished Goods Physical Inventory.

  • Manage Raw Materials Requirements Planning to ensure Raw Material Availability and meet all Inventory Targets as required.

  • Support the Raw Material Purchasing Group as required to maximize cost savings and raw material quality.

  • Support the Raw Materials Cycle Counting Monthly Activities.

  • Manage the Shipping and Receiving of all Finished Goods and Raw Material Processes.

  • Support all initiatives that promote Quality of Finished Goods and Raw Materials.

  • Support and Maintain Warehouse stock location system and code dates to ensure proper inventory turns and adherence to FIFO principles.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Finance to reduce Slow Moving and Obsolete Inventory.

  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement activities to ensure plants Objectives and Targets are met.

  • Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure Forklift Fleet and Equipment are in good working condition and Operators are following Forklift Operating Rules.

  • Educate and Enforce all Plant Rules.

  • Responsible for Labor Scheduling and Staff Vacation planning.

  • Manage direct reports within the Department.

  • Partner with Plant Leadership members in executing initiatives and projects to achieve Objectives.

  • Evaluate Monthly Inventory Adjustment Reports.

  • Oversee and Ensure the Traffic Flow Coordinators are following Standard Operating Procedures and support Safe Traffic Flow within the yard as well as maximizing outbound freight weight.

  • Oversee Return Shipment Process.

  • Lead Efforts in the Logistics Department to continually improve Customer Service key measurements - On time Shipments and lead Customer Service initiatives within Plant to include Scope 3 Sustainability goals.

  • Maintain Department Efficiency Reports.

  • Ensure Department Processes Customer Shipments using the outbound process flow SAP that will ensure optimal location loading, efficient manpower usage and accurate inventory transactions.

  • Works with Inventory System to create reports and analytical information required to resolve issues with Orders and Inventory.

  • Processes Hold Inventory

  • Investigates Shipping & Inventory Errors and develops root cause analysis along with Supervisor for corrective action.

  • Medius- receipt resolutions and/or invoice issues.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene.- Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms, industrial sweepers, travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.-

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or similar discipline preferred.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in the Warehouse/Supply Chain (Manufacturing environment preferred) including Raw Material Planning.

  • SAP Experience

  • Good working knowledge of Warehouse/Shipping policies, procedures, operations and general transportation processes.

  • Strong Team Leadership skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Able to support disaster recovery plans to ensure customers receive uninterrupted service during times of crisis.

  • Ability to translate data into useful information

  • Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs and positive demeanor.-

  • Must demonstrate core competencies of engagement in safe work behaviors, effective communications, listening, and organizational skills.

  • Must understand machine operations and be fully committed to accomplishing tasks in a safe manner.

  • Must be computer literate and have knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work an average of 40-60 hours per week and available for all shifts, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer, accepting of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, positive demeanor, and model change management for the business. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs. May require long periods of sitting, walking, and standing, working on a computer or engaging in telephone conversation.
