Job Summary

Comcast has a significant presence in the world of Underground Damage Prevention, which this role will support by gathering, transforming, storing, analyzing and presenting Comcast’s Locates data. You will be handling tens of millions of records per year to identify opportunities for improved performance and efficiencies. This Analyst 2 role will work with multiple areas of the organization including, construction, GIS/design, legal and government affairs teams, as well as various outside partner data from 811 centers, state agencies and multiple vendors.

Comcast is steadily growing and becoming a major player in the Underground Damage Prevention Industry. You will help to ensure continued growth by providing actionable reporting and insightful analytics that will inform key decision makers around the company. This includes various types of analysis of SQL data as well as GIS in an effort to reduce damages and help ensure reliability of the Comcast network. You will be part of a national team that includes not only those working in the locates space but also construction, GIS engineering/design, operations intelligence and strategic program management. This is a key position that has the potential to impact both Comcast & the 811/Locates Industry.

This team is based in our Englewood, CO office and collaborates in-office on a hybrid basis. This Analyst 2 role is not eligible for virtual or remote employment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collects, researches, transforms and analyzes data through the use of various methods and tools.

  • Creates simple to complex data visualizations to reinforce data storytelling.

  • Works independently as well as a member of a diverse and dynamic team, spanning multiple competencies.

  • Participates on team projects by documenting requirements and coordinating delivery of work products to internal and external clients.

  • Develops and reviews communication materials for the department, translating and summarizing technical information for business audiences and developing key messaging.

  • Manage intake requests, and in coordination with leadership, establish priorities as well as provide regular progress updates.

  • Designs and develops business reporting of data to drive actionable insights that can be included in technical presentations.

  • Identifies and communicates trends from a variety of data sources to develop improvements for processes, forecasting and planning.

  • Works collaboratively with business segments, corporate functions and technology groups across the organization to understand, develop, prioritize and deliver new data analytic methods or databases.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in GIS, Mathematics, Statistical Analysis, Economics, Data Engineering, Computer Sciences preferred, Master’s degree in one of the above fields a plus

  • Ability to work with and manipulate SQL & Spatial data

  • Experience with Tableau/Alteryx/Jet Brains preferred

  • Esri/ArcGIS experience highly preferred

  • Experience with Python/R preferred

  • ETL/API experience preferred

  • Big data experience a plus

  • Familiarity with Underground Damage Prevention/811/Locates industry highly preferred

Salary:

Primary Location Pay Range: $69,014.55 - $103,521.83
