International Autonomous Vehicle Data Analyst Engineer in Elmendorf, Texas
Position Overview
This position will report directly to the Engineering Manager Sr., of the Autonomous Vehicle field test group. The Autonomous Vehicle Data Analyst Engineer will participate in over the road development and validation of L3 and L4 autonomous systems. The Autonomous Vehicle Data Analyst Engineer will work in a team environment with an AV safety driver.
This position will be located at International’s Advanced Technical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Support will be required at International’s Proving Grounds in New Carlisle, IN on a regular basis in addition to occasional other business travel for training purposes.
Responsibilities
Create processes to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity, this includes understanding the workflow, identifying bottlenecks, and developing solutions for test engineering operations.
Develop process documentation, including flowcharts, diagrams, and written procedures, to ensure that all team members understand the test engineering workflow.
Taking ownership of the test article, and taking responsibility for ensuring the vehicle’s road readiness and data acquisition equipment for over the road testing.
Participate in daily testing of the AV systems with the AV safety driver.
Document, upload data and analyze driving events with AV development team
Attend training on site at OEM and International test locations, as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
OR
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment

- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Knowledge of process engineering principles and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen) to design, refine, and improve operational processes.
Lean Six Sigma or Green Belt - Demonstrates knowledge in process optimization and waste reduction.
Proven organizational skills for planning and documentation of daily missions to safety drivers.
Prior powertrain calibration / data acquisition experience on mobile platforms in automotive / commercial truck industry.
Excellent communication skills with reconstructing events during over the road testing both in presentations and verbal communications to all parties involved with the testing.
Experience with uploading of large data files, data analysis and triaging fault codes in vehicle or other mobile platforms.
Experience and / or understanding of with automotive / commercial platforms maintenance procedures.
Working knowledge of automotive / Commercial truck powertrain platforms
Working knowledge or experience with automotive / Commercial truck ADAS systems
Fluency in all Microsoft Office Applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint for documentation and communications of trip planning and debriefing.
Ability to work in a team environment for prolonged periods of testing, with AV safety drivers over the road.
