Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for processing routine and standard shipping paperwork, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, supporting assembly with repackaging, kitting, and staging of materials, and updating storage bin information in SAP. You will also complete routine inspections of material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a turret truck forklift, lifting into the air to pick orders.

• Operate a sit-down forklift to move picked orders from racks to shipping.

• Utilize a forklift (turret and sit-down) for 10-20% of the shift after training and certification.

• Transfer materials into the dumpster and unload trucks daily.

• Inspect parts visually and move them to receiving parts staging.

• Work with SAP to update storage bin information.

• Support assembly with repackaging, kitting, and staging of materials.

• Complete routine inspections of material handling equipment.

Essential Skills

• Previous sit-down or stand-up forklift experience.

• Comfortable with heights and operating very-narrow aisle forklifts (stand-up turret trucks).

• Experience in material handling, shipping and receiving, and warehouse distribution.

• Knowledge of inventory control and shipping systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous shipping/receiving experience.

• Experience operating a turret truck forklift.

• Familiarity with bill of ladings and inventory management.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90/hr.
