TGS Day Care & Learning Center Teacher Aide in Edinburg, Texas

Teacher Aide Job Description

Minimum one year of experience in a childcare, preschool, or Head Start setting preferred.

Education past high school is required; CDA certification or early childhood experience

Ability to pass a Criminal History background check and FBI fingerprinting.

Current certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain).

Show commitment to the mission and vision of TGS Daycare and Learning Center, LLC.

Exhibit the physical, emotional, and intellectual competencies necessary for the position, including but not limited to the ability to routinely lift children, stand for long hours, and actively engage with children.

Ability to read, speak, and write in English (bilingual preferred).

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing duties in accordance with the philosophy, policies, and procedures of TGS Daycare and Learning Center, LLC, as well as Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Child Care Licensing Division regulations.

Support the individual needs of children by engaging in activities, ensuring safety, assisting with meals, and fostering a nurturing environment.

Always supervise children, maintaining awareness and responsible care for their physical and emotional needs.

Interact positively with children, parents, and staff, following instructions from the Lead Teacher and administration.

Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, reporting any needed repairs or concerns to administration.

Assist in preparing materials, organizing classroom supplies, and supporting daily lesson plans.

Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children in a professional and respectful manner.

Contribute to a team-oriented environment with a positive attitude, flexibility, and dependability.

Follow and maintain professional dress code standards.

Support children with self-care tasks, such as handwashing, restroom breaks, and transitions between activities.

Assist with classroom behavior management, using positive reinforcement techniques and redirecting children when necessary.

Help set up and clean up classroom activities, ensuring a structured and engaging learning environment.

Provide one-on-one or small group support to children who need additional assistance with learning activities or social development

Attend all mandatory staff meetings and trainings, completing required continuing education hours.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or administration.

Notify administration if unable to meet the physical or emotional demands of the position at any time.
