The Indirect Purchasing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the procurement team by managing the purchasing process for essential goods and services that ensure the smooth operation of the business. This position is primarily focused on converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders, tracking order progress, conducting supplier setup, and providing training and support. You will work closely with teams across the globe to assist in sourcing activities, maintain accurate purchasing records, and contribute to the overall goals of the sourcing department and the organization.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist with sourcing activities through review and approval of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier setups

  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs and support them in obtaining goods and services on time and within budget

  • Track purchase orders, monitor delivery timelines, and ensure accurate records of all procurement transactions and supplier agreements are maintained

  • Train new employees and others on the process of creating purchase requisitions in the US

  • Help maintain positive supplier relationships by coordinating communications, responding to inquiries, and assisting in resolving any order discrepancies.

  • Create supplier master records, assist with supplier master data changes

  • Analyze spending data and purchasing trends to identify potential areas for cost savings and process improvements

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of purchasing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards and best practices

  • Learn and utilize the company's procurement software and ERP systems to streamline purchasing workflows and maintain accurate data

Must have for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field

  • 2 years of related experience

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Basic knowledge of procurement processes or supply chain concepts (experience with Oracle is a plus)

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Nice to have:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Problem-solving mindset with an ability to handle issues related to supplier performance, quality, and delivery

  • Professional certifications, such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified

  • Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), are a plus
