Newton & Sons Amusement & Recreation Attendant in East Northport, New York
Amusement & Recreation Attendant- 24 F/T, temp, seasonal (H-2B)jobs available 4/1/2025 - 10/30/25.
Employer: Lewis J. Newton & Sons, Concessions, Inc DBA Newton & Sons, 4075 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport, NY 11731.
Collect tickets; serve food & drinks; run games; assist patrons; erect, take down, attend & maintain equipment; make change. Heavy lifting & physically mobile required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Days & hrs vary, typically Wed-Sun 4pm-11pm, Work needs vary (hrs, days, schedule, location & work positions). Work needs subject to industry practice and are not guaranteed per day, per week, per schedule, per location, or per worker, e.g., rainouts, brief periods without scheduled events, event dates and hours set by agreement with sponsor and subject to change (based upon adverse weather, hours of operation, day of the week, attendance, size of the event, school schedules, amount of equipment in operation, staffing, etc.), and unforeseen cancellations. In the event of approved, overlapping events, work needs may cause workers to be adjusted. Must be willing to work up to 7 days/wk. 35 hours/wk. Pay $17.42/hr. No OT expected. OT, if any, calculated & paid as per applicable regulations at $26.13/hour.
Season starts in Suffolk Cnty, NY w/ other worksites in Suffolk, Nassau, Queens & Westchester counties. As a convenience to wrkrs, employer will provide optional transportation from a central pick up site in Suffolk Cnty.
Optional housing ($5/day)available for wage credit or deduction, or any lesser amount to the maximum extent not prohibited by law. Commuting service (valued at $20/week)& local convenience travel(valued at $25/week)available.
No education or experience required. OJT provided.
Employment subject to post-hire background & drug test paid by employer. Job requires applicant to be qualified, ready, willing, able & available to perform during the entire employment at the designated worksite under adverse weather; to enter into & comply with employment contract; to follow workplace rules & any lawful obligations; & to meet job performance standards. Must cooperate w/ & complete job application, interview & any verification of supplied information; any supplied information must be truthful, fully responsive & complete. Must comply w/ grooming requirements & dress code.
Subject to discharge for cause.
A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Wrkrs will be paid wkly on Thursday. All deductions from the wrkr's paycheck required by law will be made.
Wage prepayment & merit/sick/supplemental/recruiting pay at employer discretion.
Er will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies & equipment required to perform the job.
This job order, incl its wage & working terms & conditions, is contingent upon prevailing US immigration law, incl child labor, wage & hour, employment, US immigration law, incl DOL & DHS regs. If any such prevailing law is rescinded, superseded, vacated, or substantially modified, then the parties will renegotiate in good faith any affected term.
H-2B wrkrs will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to wrkrs reimbursed, if the wrkr completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the wrkr completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are 15.88/day w/o receipts or up to 59/day w/ receipts.
