Hiring Range: $40,727.00 - $47,154.00

Workdays/Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Monday - Friday (some evenings/weekends required)

Position performs standardized work following prescribed procedures and instructions, requiring minimal prior training or experience. There is an established and specified routine to be followed and limited decision-making, restricted to choosing and safely using the proper work tools. Responsible for cleaning facilities and/or equipment; performing basic maintenance of equipment, grounds, and facilities; performing manual labor; assisting with projects that require semi-skilled labor; providing customer service; and keeping records and reporting maintenance needs to higher authority that fall outside of the scope of the work assigned.

Primary responsibilities for incumbents assigned to indoor recreation facilities will include performing janitorial, housekeeping, and custodial duties; cleaning and maintaining floors and other indoor and outdoor areas; emptying trash, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms, cleaning mirrors and windows, replenishing sanitation items, pressure washing assigned areas; setting up and tearing down equipment for rentals, special events; and opening/closing facilities, as assigned. Completes special projects as assigned including vegetation management, storm cleanup, and athletic field maintenance.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Performs janitorial, housekeeping, and custodial duties, as assigned to adopted maintenance standards.

  • Cleans, and maintains floors and other indoor and outdoor areas.

  • Empties trash, dusts, sanitizes bathrooms, cleans mirrors and windows, replenishes sanitation items, and conducts custodial inspections.

  • Strips and waxes floors, cleans carpets, pressure washes assigned areas,

  • Sets up and tears down equipment for rentals and special events, and opens/closes facilities, as assigned.

  • Occasional special assignments may include blowing and clearing walkways as well as mowing and trimming grass/weeds.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSet, TASC).

  • One year of maintenance or customer service experience related to assignment.

  • A valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience in cleaning, stripping, and waxing commercial floors.

  • Available to work Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. along with some weekends and evenings.

  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, understand simple processes, and understand the routine operation of machines.
