Director of Data Engineering
We are committed to building a robust data infrastructure to
support analytics, business intelligence, and AI-driven insights. We are
looking for an experienced Director of Data Engineering to lead the
design, development, and optimization of our enterprise data platform.
Position Overview
The Director of Data Engineering will oversee the
strategy, architecture, and execution of our data engineering initiatives. This
role will lead a team responsible for designing and maintaining data pipelines,
managing our Azure-based data infrastructure, and ensuring data quality,
security, and governance. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical
background in cloud data platforms, SQL, Python, data integration, and
analytics, with a proven track record of delivering scalable data
solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Architecture
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of a modern, scalable data architecture.
Oversee the management of our Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps for data integration and automation.
Ensure efficient ETL/ELT processes, data transformation, and orchestration using Python, SQL, and cloud-based tools.
Design real-time and batch data processing solutions to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence.
Optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
Data Integration & Pipeline Management
Develop and maintain high-performance data pipelines to integrate data from Salesforce, RingCentral, and various SaaS applications.
Ensure data availability, accuracy, and integrity across multiple business units.
Implement data automation strategies to streamline business processes and reporting.
Support the integration of third-party APIs and custom data sources into our data ecosystem.
Business Intelligence & Analytics Enablement
Collaborate with business intelligence teams to enable self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making.
Support and enhance our Power BI infrastructure, ensuring efficient data visualization and reporting capabilities.
Partner with stakeholders to define data requirements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and analytical models.
Data Governance, Security & Compliance
Develop and enforce data governance policies, best practices, and security standards.
Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and data security measures to protect sensitive information.
Establish data monitoring, auditing, and quality control mechanisms.
Leadership & Strategy
Build and lead a high-performing data engineering team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
Define and execute the data engineering roadmap, aligning with business and IT strategies.
Advocate for data best practices, automation, and modern data technologies.
Evaluate and implement emerging data technologies to enhance our data capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles.
Expertise in Azure Data Services, including Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-based data engineering.
Experience working with Salesforce, RingCentral, and other SaaS applications for data integration.
Hands-on experience with data pipeline automation, real-time data processing, and API integrations.
Familiarity with Power BI and data visualization best practices.
Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
