As a Lead Control Automation System Engineer, you will be responsible to lead the requirement, design, implementation, and development of digital control system of the HVDC Control & Protection system.
As part of this role, you will be working closely across various engineering disciplines within HVDC business. Solution and engineering centre (NPI, ITO, OTR and Product Care) in all aspects of HVDC Control & Protection system, this includes developing organizational talent and Engineering process management, provide technical guidance, mentoring, drive consistent design practices, common global processes for projects implementation and also provide technical solution that meets the NPI, project delivery and Tender objectives.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
As Lead Control Automation System Engineer, you will be responsible of delivering the overall technical solution that meets customer Requirements. This includes the following activities:
Customer requirements capture and analysis.
Definition of control system architecture for a HVDC project.
Build and update signal list of the project.
Define control test strategy.
define detailed test plans and procedures and execute/lead/supervise tests execution.
SCADA/HMI development
Lead and support FAT tests for his/her scope.
Collaborate with different stakeholders (Project Manager, technical experts, site team, ...) to ensure successful delivery of his/her scope of work.
Interface with equipment supplier, monitor manufacturing of cabinets and supervise Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
Participate to the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
Assist site activities relevant to the installation and commissioning of the control system.
Prepare replies to customer comments on technical submittals in coordination with project management.
Attend, as needed, meeting with customers/contractors/ consultants for technical discussions.
Follow the departments standard design practices, engineering reviews and guidelines.
Apply engineering policies and procedures.
Support department Continuous Improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
Degree in Electronics/Electrical/Automation engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5-year experience in Control system development in similar application field to HVDC: Oil&Gas, Electrical Substations, transmission, and distribution, …
Good understanding of Electrical systems Engineering.
Strong knowledge about communication protocols and networks
Working experience with IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices)
Good knowledge about communication design ( Fiber Optics, Ethernet network, …)
Knowledge about norms, standards, and technologies of Control design in electrical transmission and distribution systems: like IEC 61850
Knowledge of HMI and Scada system
Ability to understand Electrical drawing.
Tools: MS office (Word, Visio, Excel),
Technical documentation and communication skills
Languages: English
Availability to travel 10% of time
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge in Cybersecurity
Knowledge about HVDC stations and main components.
Languages: French
