Description

Under general supervision, the Program Analyst I – Public Private Partnership Specialist I is an entry-level professional located within the City of Detroit Housing and Revitalization Department's Development & Investment Division. The Public Private Partnership Specialist provides support on programs and operations relating to housing development and policy projects, as well as government grant projects.

Examples of Duties

  • Support the department’s participation in housing development projects through data management, preparing presentations and communications, organizing training and development.

  • Support on the drafting, release, and awarding of requests for proposals.

  • Attend and/or participate in meetings of other governmental agencies, businesses, and community groups as assigned and summarize discussion and action items; draft responses to requests for information.

  • Support developers on the utilization of various incentives related to housing and mixed-use developments.

  • Assist developers with navigating City processes.

  • Communicate with members of the public and incorporate their concerns into development projects and policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with major course of work in business administration, public administration, public policy, economics, finance, accounting, urban planning, urban studies, information technology, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience involving the systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of grants, housing development, or other financial data.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted to meet the education and experience requirements of this position.

Additional points may be awarded for:

RETIREMENT BENEFITS

City Employees Retirement System

As a regular City employee you automatically become a member of the General Retirement System. This entitles you to a retirement allowance after:

• Completion of thirty (30) years of service;

  • At age sixty (60) if you have at least ten (10) years of service, or

  • At age sixty-five (65) with eight (8) years of service.

• In the event of disability, other eligibility rules apply);

  • An early, actuarially reduced, retirement is offered after you have attained at least twenty-five (25) years of service;

• Employees are vested after ten (10) years of service, regardless of age.
