Ecumen Chef Supervisor in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota

Description Full-Time Chef Supervisor l 8am - 4:30pm with an every other weekend rotation The Chef Supervisor is responsible for the back of the house as it relates to all aspects of food service and management. This position is also responsible for managing the preparation and service of meals, ordering the food, executing menus and supervising staff. Essential Job Responsibilities: Ensures quality meals are prepared, cooked, and served to residents, families, guests and team members. Provides exemplary service to our residents, families and guests, ensuring all feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service. Assists in the supervision of dining staff in the absence or in support of the Leadership Team, including hiring, training, mentoring and scheduling staff to maintain adequate staffing. Collaborates with Dietitian and Culinary Director to create menus that enhance the dining experience for the people we serve using knowledge of nutrition and special diets and input from residents. Monitors adequate inventory of food and supplies. Assists with the food and supply ordering process as directed. Ensures the staff maintain a clean and sanitary work area. Complies with state and federal rules and regulations, follows established policies, procedures and practices of the facility. Chef Supervisor Minimum Required Qualifications: High School graduate or GED Certified Food Protection Manager in accordance with MN Department of Health Food service management experience Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in management or similar Previous experience in food service management for seniors Previous experience in inventory control, food cost analysis, menu planning, event planning Qualifications Licenses & Certifications Licenses - CFPM (required) Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
