As a Design Engineer III with PCB Piezotronics, Inc., you will be a part of our R&D Group to develop the next-generation sensor designs used by some of the world’s top tech companies. The candidate will continuously push the boundaries of sensor technology through research, analysis and physical experiments. Areas of research can include design optimization, materials, manufacturing processes and calibration systems.
Additional Duties:
Collaborate as a team member and work independently to generate innovative solutions for complex problems.
Demonstrate a basic understanding in one or more areas such as solid mechanics, mechanical dynamics, vibration, shock, Piezoelectric, MEMS or acoustics.
Design of precision mechanical components
Utilize CAD to 3D model designs for prototyping.
Experience with AutoDesk Inventor preferred.
Experience with sensor performance characterization preferred
Exhibit a basic understanding of data acquisition and signal processing to conduct novel physical experiments
Experience with MatLab or LabView preferred
Preform analysis through various techniques including but not limited to hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis
Experience with Ansys or MatLab preferred
The candidate will have the opportunity to pursue areas of personal interest within sensor technology.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- MS Engineering, or BSME and BSEE
Experience:
10+ years
Computer skills, Microsoft Office software, 3D modeling software
