Facilities Maintenance Technician Animal Research Facility

Core hours are Monday through Friday day shift. Overtime and weekends as required

In this position as a Facilities Maintenance Technician , you'll be performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment. Your work will focus on completing work order requests and addressing urgent requests. Typical duties include and are not limited to;

• Routine inspections, cleaning, and maintain building fixtures and equipment, such as windows, doors, locks, carpets, and HVAC systems.

• Repair plumbing fixtures, unclog drains, and maintain plumbing systems.

• Maintain and replace electrical fixtures, such as receptacles, wiring, and breakers

• Perform carpentry repairs and maintenance.

• Shovels and plows snow, and salts sidewalks and parking lots

• Maintain accurate records of performed maintenance tasks.

• Follow safety precautions and adhere to the set schedule.

Skills/Education/Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED preferred but not required.

• Highly prefer a candidate with 2+ years of facilities maintenance experience

• Must be comfortable with working around research animals

• Experienced in operating various equipment, including snow blowers, lawnmowers, and small hand tools. Working knowledge of tools, standard appliances, and devices.

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Requires a strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
