Description
Strong project managers are essential to our success. We’re looking for a project manager to lead some of the industry's best engineers while executing highly technical, complex engineering water systems projects focused on drinking water and raw water transmission and distribution systems, as well as wastewater collection systems and storage tanks.

We are looking for experienced project managers to join our growing Water practice in Denver, Colorado.

We need a Water Systems Project Manager who will:

We are also looking for a Project Manager who can:
Provide leadership and guidance of all aspects of multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion, including overall safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, environmental compliance, project controls, and public/community relations.
Establish project teams, coordinate activities of multiple disciplines, and ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
Manage all aspects of project communication.
Lead the Project Management team in administering request for proposal (RFP) package development, bid and selection process, and scope of work documents.
Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs.
Identify opportunities and manage team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiation, and related activities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding efforts such as client coordination, strategic planning, master scope management, budget finances, subcontracting, project staffing, environmental compliance, facility support and schedule attainment.
Manage the review, negotiation, approval, and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
Lead internal and external project risk reviews and consult with Risk Department as required.
Manage internal project financials, providing detailed, accurate project cost forecasts and accruals to client(s) and Global Practice leadership.
Develop and implement project policies and procedures, establish project controls systems, and implement the project execution plan.
Report regularly on progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions, potential impacts, and any issues requiring additional support.
Responsible for managing contract closeout activities.
Leverage existing client relationships, create new client relationships and focus on repeat work within each client account.
Support business strategy for developing new business opportunities in planning and digital water solutions.
Work to proactively identify and position Burns & McDonnell for upcoming projects and opportunities.
Adhere to Burns & McDonnell’s safety programs, trainings, and policies, as well as promote and manage the safety and health performance of project team members and subcontractors.
Provide direction as part of the sales team for furthering Burns & McDonnell’s position in the industry through industry events, conferences, and contacts.
Provide guidance and industry feedback or trends to the water leadership team.
Provide mentorship as well as formal and informal training for the project team.
Provide performance feedback for project team members as appropriate.
Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to the client’s satisfaction and that projects are following internal QA/QC guidelines.
Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program required
Minimum of 7 years of related experience (10 years preferred) in design engineering, including 3 or more years of experience managing engineering projects. Completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
Previous consulting experience preferred.
Professional Registration preferred.
Demonstrated success in project management strongly preferred.
Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients strongly preferred.
Prior experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
Ability to influence, lead and manage change thoughtfully and positively strongly desired.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, ability to work overtime on short notice.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office
Ability to work collaboratively with others (owners, contractors, engineers, designers) in a multi-disciplined project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software

Compensation $140,000.00-225,000.00 AnnuallyThe expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
