The mission of the University of Colorado DRB is to provide review and advice to parties charged with the design and development of capital projects at all campus properties under the control of the Board of Regents. The DRB is a six-member committee appointed by the University president and charged with advising design teams about plans for construction on the four CU campuses. The DRB formally reviews and approves project proposals at four stages of design: pre-design, concept design, schematic design, and design development.
Per university policy, the DRB is comprised of three professional architects, one landscape architect, one architect or engineer with expertise in sustainable building design, and one senior administrator or faculty from the CU Denver College of Architecture and Planning. This process will fill one professional architect open seat on the DRB.
Members are appointed to five-year terms and are compensated at a rate of $125/hour. The DRB typically meets one to two days a month, for a total of approximately 10 working hours per month.
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed as an architect
10+ years of experience working as a professional architect
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed in the state of Colorado as an architect
Experience sharing feedback about design proposals and participating as a member of a team
The applicant should be willing to attend monthly in-person meetings in Denver or on-campus in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, or Aurora, Colorado.
