Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Operations.

The Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations will be responsible for the Daytona Beach Operations facility at L3Harris Aerojet Rocketdyne ensuring proper planning and allocation of labor resources, driving productivity through continuous improvement while ensuring safety and quality.Working with additive manufacturing and 3D printing.

This position will report key operational metrics such as on-time delivery, OEE and inventory levels. The successful individual will grow the culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence and pride of producing high quality metal additively manufactured products on-time.

Working within the Aerospace and Defense markets, Aerojet Rocketdyne is dedicated to taking a customer’s concept and turning it into a reality through the rapid production of one off prototypes and mass production of customized components. This position is located in Daytona Beach, FL.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and execute strategic plans to optimize schedule, personnel, material and equipment to ensure that production goals are met. This is accomplished by using lean manufacturing tools to orchestrate the production line activities. Ensure facilities are clean and maintained to support operations through 5S culture.

  • Day to day oversight of production team currently working 1st shift Monday through Friday. Daily coordination with Engineering and Maintenance to support production operations.

  • Establish and maintain a variety of KPIs and reports to monitor internal operating controls. Clearly communicate targets and action plans to the team and drive to success. Respond to issues that arise on the shop floor.

  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior manufacturing management experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior manufacturing management experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior manufacturing management experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Supervisory and administrative skills including the ability to select, appraise, motivate and develop subordinates.

  • Ability to optimize a manufacturing environment with process equipment, specialty tooling and facility maintenance.

  • Familiarity with EHS practices in the manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels and functions; including the ability to present to senior-level executives

  • Ability to provide effective direction, leadership and team building.

  • Demonstrated abilities to plan, prioritize and delegate work assignments, including ability to define, implement and execute standard work.

  • Skills and abilities to provide technical and administrative guidance for activities, including decision making in ambiguous situations

  • Knowledge and ability to supervise/manage large multi-functional manufacturing operations.

  • Knowledge of design practices, manufacturing techniques and inspection requirements as they relate to the production floor.
