Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Develops and maintains training curricula for all areas of Ambulatory Care with focus on non-clinical processes and practices, including for staff of Periop Support Services and Access Services, which includes the contact center
Prepares and maintains written, audible, and visual training materials and products
Delivers educational and training content in compelling manner via group settings and 1:1 engagements
Facilitates learning through lecture and demonstration-based instruction; adjusts instruction methods to meet participant needs; provides feedback to participants during the training session, and feedback to management of the participant’s competency
Conducts regular audits, reviews, and assessments of staff performance related to workflow standards, practices, and policies; makes recommendations for employee improvements as needed; executes on educational and training plans related to recommendations
Performs audit functions in a concise, timely, and professional manner; activities include data retrieval and review, error identification and correction, documentation and display of data, identification of trends, and recommendation of improvements; demonstrates understanding of error trends and builds educational opportunities to mitigate future issues
Partners with employees’ managers to recommend courses of action for professional development and demonstration of skill competency
Actively participates in the development and execution of department’s quality and process improvement plans and initiatives
Collaborates with Information Technology (IT) departments and IT training teams to stay informed about system changes and updates
May serve as relief support to department personnel as staff levels dictate; cross trains in all department functions to assist in the smooth delivery of departmental services
Abides by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights
May maintain work queues in Epic
May maintain patient information and documentation in electronic medical record
Supports quality care through compliance with departmental and organizational policies and guidelines, and external agency guidelines, standards, or regulations
Supports departmental initiatives and change efforts
Required Skills/Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2-years’ experience developing training material and delivering education in classroom, online, or 1:1 setting required
Minimum of 5-years’ experience in registration/scheduling/pre-certification with ability to articulate understanding of registration processes, as they relate to Revenue Cycle required; contact center experience preferred
Epic experience required
Understanding of medical and insurance terminology required
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
