Jacobs Entry Level Transportation Engineer (Roadway Design) in Dallas, Texas

You will assist Engineers by performing the routine aspects of Roadway design assignments, subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company. You will work on a variety of tasks pertaining to transportation projects.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Researching design options and document findings Project Engineers and/or Project Managers

  • Preparing and reviewing roadway plans, detail drawings and project specifications

  • Performing horizontal and vertical roadway alignment calculations and utility research and coordination

  • Coordinating project assignments with engineers and technicians in other disciplines

  • Attend kick-off and design review meetings, and interact with clients

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering

  • Experience in utilizing computer programming to solve engineering problems

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team setting

  • Excellent wriitten and verbal communications

  • Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Experience with Microstation and Open Roads
