Job Description:
Role Summary/Purpose:
The AVP, Merchant Experience Analytics is a highly visible role responsible for providing strategic insights and a decision management framework to drive profitable growth for a broad set of small and medium sized clients within the Home and Auto platform. This role will partner cross functionally to deliver analytics insights around overall P&L performance, merchant activation trends, campaign optimization & measurement (acquisition, incentives, lifecycle, retention), segmentation, forecasting, and portfolio diagnostics.
They will provide thought leadership to accelerate new prospective accounts and sales volume growth for our merchants in this space. This role will work closely with the Merchant Experience Team sales and marketing stakeholders and must have the ability to provide actionable recommendations based upon data driven insights.

Essential Responsibilities:
Support Home & Auto small and medium sized businesses from an analytics perspective throughout their lifecycle with Synchrony (acquisitions, activation, retention), inclusive of prioritizing and delivering end-to-end work requested by clients, manager and/or immediate stakeholders.
Using data-driven analytical methods, develop and implement B2B marketing strategies and campaigns, create measurable test plans, prepare reporting and analyses, make optimization recommendations, and present to peers plus SYF cross-functional team all in a timely manner.
Collaborate with cross functional teams, including B2B COE, to lead and develop strategy for 3rd party data pilots and integration, identify opportunities to enhance merchant data across all data warehouses; specifically supporting build out and enhancement of merchant dimensions on CDCI tables.
Responsible for on-going optimization efforts, strategic analytics consulting, and reporting needs with launch of FSM/ISR merchant prioritization segmentation strategy, champion the value of data share to enhance targeting ability with actual off-us sales volume for key strategic partners.
Provide strategic thought leadership and actionable insights to evolve the merchant analytics agenda based upon the state of the business and potential opportunities, inclusive of product & market expansions, lead generation, dealer enrollment.
Use data to tell a story that is actionable, backed by data and considers financial and operational implications.
Conduct analysis, including test/pilot design, performance measurement, and optimization, to uncover insights that inform critical decision-making to drive profitable outcomes.
Proposes new ideas and approaches to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness of results with goal of driving sales growth for our dealer partners.
Act as business consultant, offer analytical and strategic thinking, understand business needs and requirements, and be able to translate needs and requirements into data, KPIs, dashboards and insights to measure business performance, and make recommendation to senior leadership team
Mentor offshore analysts to provide strategic thought leadership ensure high quality execution and delivery of business insights to drive profitable growth.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 7+ years of data analytics experience
A minimum of 3+ years progressive work experience, including:
Professional experience using quantitative skills and interpreting data from multiple sources using SAS or SQL.
Leading large-scale analytics projects including analyzing data to identify trends to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
Experience working with cross functional partners such as Marketing, Credit, and Sales.
Desired Characteristics:
Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Decision Science or Quantitative Analysis, with Systems or Marketing specialization preferred.
Experience in consumer financial services, credit card payments, retail, fintech or consulting with a consumer data analytics focus.
3+ years of project management skills and experience
Demonstrated ability to manage remotely located teams in India.
Proven hands-on experience in data query and manipulation tools such as R or Python and with visual analytics tools like Tableau, Birst or PowerBI a plus.
Advanced skills using Excel and PowerPoint strongly preferred.
Ability to synthesize/analyze diverse data, develop executable recommendations, articulate a clear strategic vision, deliver results, and influence stakeholders to accelerate initiatives forward.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meeting business goals.
Proven ability to work remotely and independently, yet as key member and contributor to a broader team.
Organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel up to 10%+ for stakeholder engagement.
Grade/Level: 10
The salary range for this position is 95,000.00 - 160,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
