Please Note: This is NOT a software engineer, programmer or developer position.
This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at either the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area or Westinghouse's Rock Hill facility located about 45-minutes South of Charlotte, NC. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.
Your Day-to-Day: Location: Cranberry Woods or Rock Hill engineering locations.
The AP Technology Deployment department is looking for a principal engineer to deliver on AP1000 Front End Engineering projects and project development activities. The project engineers will report to a AP1000 Project Engineering Manager and be assigned to one or several technical areas. Their specific responsibilities will be as follows: Work with support of Functional Area Lead(s) to ensure progress and scope execution on AP1000 Front End Engineering contracts and new plant project development activities Responsible for the managing the schedule and budgeting Lead point of contact for Functional Area Leads and Project Coordinator Responsible for discipline representation in the Project Review Meetings Supports the Project Engineering Manager and Design Technical Lead as required Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: Bachelor's degree in engineering At least 8 years of relevant work experience, previous experience on AP1000 preferred Ability to travel internationally as projects require (up to +/- 25% for peak times) Cognizance in at least one of the following technical areas: Nuclear systems design Turbine Island/Balance of Plant systems or structural design NSSS components design and analyses Piping layout and/or analysis Licensing Plant layout integration Digital Design (configuration control) Civil, Structural and Architectural engineering Electrical design Effective oral and written communications Ability to establish effective networks across various functional areas Location: Cranberry Woods or Rock Hill engineering locations.
