Description
Robert Half has a long-term contract opportunity available for an experienced, organized Staff Accountant at a reputable company. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Conway, New Hampshire region.
Key responsibilities
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Requirements - Vow to meet business deadlines
Efficient in ERP systems
Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
Billing experience desired
Expertise in Disability Claims
QuickBooks experience
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
High attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
