Jacobs Director, Growth & Sales - Global Life Sciences in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania

Life Science is a global business delivering services and solutions to private sector clients. We provide complete life cycle services integrating buildings and infrastructure from planning, programming, architecture, engineering, program management, construction management, asset management, commissioning, operations & maintenance, and strategic consulting solutions.

The Life Science group seeks to fill a Director, Growth & Sales - Global Life Science. This role is responsible for providing sales management for a portfolio of activities. This role is a crucial partner to the Life Science and Advanced Facility (AF) Operations team for developing and delivering our business within AF. The position will report to the VP of Sales for Life Sciences.

In this role, you’ll be a trusted advisor regarding company strategy and thought leadership and instrumental in establishing a broad vision, focusing on creating revenue-generating, innovative client solutions. You’ll actively develop, deliver, and drive business growth strategy development/implementation in partnership with your operations partners, including key hires, taking an intelligent risk, and providing broader services, new markets, and clients. You’ll ensure the core and critical client strategies are developed and implemented for Life Science and provide input into these strategies for other AF groups.

You’ll engage directly in crucial pursuit activities during the life cycle of the pursuits as a coach and mentor with your team to improve the winning rate and training of the sales and operational team.

As the Director of Growth & Sales - Global Life Science, you’ll review and approve opportunities and funding through go/no go or bid/no-bid decisions and escalate approval upward through approval thresholds. You’ll manage sales staff production and redeploy staff as needed.

Collaboration will be essential as you work across the company to coordinate and cultivate strategies and sales, especially with familiar clients and markets. Sales Operations, while reporting separately, will be your critical business partner. You must work closely with the sales operations team to ensure you have trained, experienced, and strong team members. Critical ops leaders should be actively engaged in client leadership and pursuits.

Experience in business development with a focus on the Life Science Market.

Experience working with a broad range of project types and sizes with diverse private sector clients.

Experience personally engaging in essential pursuits, including developing strategy, pricing, and managing the team.

Experience managing a diverse sales team with varying complexity of projects and clients.

Analytical skillset with the ability to develop pricing proposals and support compliance with sales budgets.

Be an agile, proven sales professional with demonstrated ability to close and recent experience in the Life Science market with an established track record of selling.
