The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance, has a full-time vacancy for an LPA and CA Engineer.

SUMMARY: To administer state and federal transportation related programs. To provide transportation system analysis, technical support, and training for the Geographical Information System (GIS) activities of the Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance and other bureaus and agencies.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS

: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Masters degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering.

Experience: Four years of post-baccalaureate experience in the practice of civil engineering.

OR

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of education with a major study in engineering.

Experience: Six years of post-baccalaureate experience in the practice of civil engineering.

OR

Education: Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering or engineering technology.

Experience: Six years of experience in the practice of engineering at a level equivalent to Civil Engineer I (or higher), plus two additional years of experience in a position comparable to an Engineering Technician.

License/Certification:

1.

Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Hampshire or a Licensed Professional Engineer in another state and obtain licensure in NH within one year of employment. Licensure designation must be in Civil, Civil Highway, Geo Technical, or Structural Engineering.

2.

Applicant must possess a valid drivers license and/or access to transportation for statewide travel. The applicants Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Requires thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices. Requires the successful completion of specialized computer training, software programming skills (VB.NET), and the ability to apply the knowledge to everyday applications and to the training of others.
