Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Job Location: Local Municipality

Job Summary:

We are in search of a highly organized, detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to oversee and manage the payroll processes in our local municipality. In this role, you will be in charge of ensuring all our employees are paid timely and accurately, complying with the federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and tax laws. The ideal candidate should hold a solid experience in using ADP Workforce Now software.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage the payroll of all municipal employees on a timely basis.

• Verify and ensure the accuracy of the payroll records by comparing them with timesheet reports.

• Handle all related tasks such as wage deductions, leaves, and absences.

• Ensure compliance to all local, state, and federal regulations concerning payroll.

• Resolve any payroll discrepancies or queries.

• Prepare reports on payroll related activities.

• Maintain confidentiality of all payroll-related data.

• Assist in the audits related to payrolls or other areas as required.

• Stay updated with changes in the payroll laws, tax procedures and regulations.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role in a local municipality.

• Advanced knowledge and experience with ADP Workforce Now software.

• Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal payroll and tax laws.

• High proficiency in MS Office, particularly in MS Excel.

• Superior mathematical and analytical skills for precise computation and processing.

• Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
