Job Summary

Coordinates the support and execution of more complex tier two support in problem recognition, research, isolation and resolution. Supports internal users by fulfilling a variety of service requests including recommending and implementing new capabilities. Provides excellent customer service experience. Works as a primary team representative leading desktop related projects of high complexity. Provides mentoring and coaching to junior and new staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Tier 2 support by analyzing and resolving incidents and requests regarding use of business applications, operating systems, software, remote access, security software, telecommunications and other areas as defined.

  • Researches, analyzes, debugs, and resolves access issues. Tracks recurring issues. Develops and executes permanent solutions.

  • Develops and authors knowledge articles to improve internal support capabilities. Reviews and improves knowledge articles created by others.

  • Leads implementation and on-going support of hardware and software systems and the interaction between workstations, servers, networks and computing/telecommunications resources.

  • Participates on and/or leads special projects or initiatives to develop/expand area of expertise of the team.

  • Oversees the installation and maintenance of hardware, software, LANs, WANs, network operating systems, servers, PCs and/or telecommunications equipment.

  • Designs, installs and tests networks/telecommunications systems.

  • Performs special projects as assigned, to include needs analysis, design, implementation, configuration, testing, and documentation.

  • Evaluates and recommends vendor products.

  • Ensures assets are properly documented and tracked.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field; Five years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.

  • Knowledge of and experience with service management and remote desktop control tools; hardware, software, LANs, WANs, network operating systems, servers, PCs.

  • Experienced with Windows Operating Systems support, commonly used business productivity applications, active directory administration, and desktop security applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to work independently in a team environment without direct supervision

  • Provide after hours and on-call support as required.

  • Ability to lift and move IT hardware.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Certifications in desktop technologies.
