Job Summary

The Compliance Analyst will assist the Compliance Team with successfully managing the Compliance Management System (CMS). The role will primarily focus on conducting day-to-day monitoring and review related to mortgage lending and operational activities. Further duties can be assigned at any time due to expanded activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the compliance communication with branch staff and daily reporting

  • Oversee the review of marketing material

  • Ensures the company complies with assigned federal, state, and investor regulations and guidelines.

  • Manage shared projects with staff and ensure staff clarity on objectives and timely completion of work.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational, financial, legal, and regulatory risk.

  • System testing and audit

Requirements

Skills required

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely verbally and in writing

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to noted deadlines.

  • Analytical skills regarding research into federal and state laws and operational problems.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required)

  • 5+ years of mortgage banking experience (Underwriting, processing, closing, loan origination, servicing, compliance, and/or audit, etc.)

  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance, including, but not limited to, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, ATR/QM, and HMDA.

  • State and CFPB exam experience (preferred).

  • Knowledge of NMLS (Company and Individual license activities)

  • Knowledge of Encompass/Mavent preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the federal and state mortgage lending and servicing laws.
