What do you get to do in this position?
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for management of hourly operators in Receiving / Shipping / Warehouse
- Responsible for employee performance, development, engagement, discipline, etc
- Responsible for the performance of "standard work" within the department,
- May occasionally fill in for or assist 2 nd
- May be responsible for temporarily moving or shifting individual operators from one position or sector to another depending on changes in demand or priorities
- Responsible for managing/assisting in yearly physical inventory
- Enforce compliance with Health/Safety/Environment and 5S rules throughout plant, including reporting and managing incidents and near misses
- Communicate with customers to answer shipment inquiries, preform root cause analysis, implementation of countermeasures, and regular audits to review results
- Optimize daily / weekly balance workload / resources (internal, external storage, and freight capacities)
- Ensure inventories accuracy with permanent alignment between operations and inventory (ERP system SAP and actuals)
- Organize the training needs of teams and manage the versatility in accordance with the target defined. Create work instructions as needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, logistics or similar discipline preferred
- At least 5 years experience in distribution or manufacturing required
- Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems
- Excellent organization skills and attention to details
- Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems and data entry software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, oral) is required
