Job Title: Manufacturing Technician

Responsibilities

  • Participate in process and manufacturing teams to implement the NAM Primary Packaging Roadmap dictated by the PP/PS Sustainability Team.

  • Conduct research and studies on sustainable packaging products best suited for implementation at the local site, including coordinating formalized testing at laboratories.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing, process, procurement, and other departments on implementing new sustainable materials.

  • Lead the local team to ensure all aspects of the project have been implemented.

  • Physically assist with label changes, warehouse changes, workstation modifications, bin changes, etc., as needed per project.

  • Research and procure new fixtures, tools, bins, workstations, etc., as needed per project.

  • Conduct 3F and assist with FAIR reporting.

  • Provide hypercare for new sustainable materials that have been implemented and continuously resolve issues with new implementations.

  • Assist with reporting to the PP/PS Sustainability team on project updates and completions.

  • Conduct financial impacts per project, including cost analysis and cycle time analysis.

  • Document the technical and generic specifications of the packaging process, including line layouts and station layouts.

  • Ensure assembly process deliverables are aligned with global assembly process practices.

  • Coordinate and assist with equipment installations and validations, if required.

  • Provide the final sign-off on tool and process for project deliverables while following the principles of the Schneider Performance System (SPS).

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or similar.

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering.

  • Experience with component replenishment/kanban.

  • Experience in a new product development environment or related stage gate process awareness.

  • Knowledge of verification and validation processes for new product development.

  • Proven ability to work across various functions, including design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, and manufacturing operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in packaging/shipping processes and related equipment.

  • Experience with SAP production software.

Work Environment

The position is based in Columbia, MO, with some travel to El Paso, TX. The role involves working in a manufacturing plant environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with 1st shift hours. The role may require physical assistance with various modifications and changes on the plant floor as needed for project implementations. The interview process includes an initial virtual interview followed by an onsite interview.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $23.00/hr.
