Amentum Drafter - NISSC II in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Our NORAD Operations Group

Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).

Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:

Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.

Mitigation of orbital conflicts.

Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.

Operations and maintenance of classified communications.

Software development and integration.

NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:

Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado

Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado

Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska

Vandenberg Space Force Base, California

Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world

Description of Duties:

The Drafter-Entry level supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:

• Prepares and assembles documentation packages and produces drawing sets to be checked by subject matter experts.

• Confers with subject matter experts to prepare drawing packages to support personnel involved in maintenance activities, project planning, and day-to-day operations of IT equipment.

• Establishes schedules for package reviews on a quarterly basis.

• Applies concepts for developing and establishing drawing databases, templates, and requirements.

• Accomplishes tasks of moderate scope and solves problems that require investigation of a select number of variables.

• Reviews completed drawings for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations.

• Interprets requirements and performs analyses to ensure that objectives are met.

• Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD, and Microsoft Visio

Basic Requirements:

Clearance: Active Secret Security clearance

Understanding of administrative and/or technical support assignments

Understanding of evaluation, selection, adapting, and modifying standard techniques and criteria in order to plan and conduct assignments.

Understanding of requirement tools, plans, schedules, and coordination of detailed phases of work through the selection and adaptation or modification of techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Ability to thoroughly reviewing all results from assigned tasks and determining if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented.

Ability to interpret requirement specifications based on user requirements and high-level system/network architecture.

Understanding of support system/network architecture design and development activities.

Ability to Integrate/implement separating system/network engineering management, system integration, and/or test.

Ability to review and implementing new sites with communication hardware, networking, and encryption requirements.

Ability to integrate/implement solutions to applications, problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.

Ability to perform system/network management and integration functions.

Desired Requirements:

• BS/BA

• AutoCAD Certification

This position is expected to pay $50,000 - $65,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
