Who we want
The Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the areas of Policy Analysis, Public Policy, International Economics, and Labor Economics, that will focus on generating academic publications related to various substantive policy areas. This position will directly support ongoing research projects as assigned by the Institute Director. These projects are expected to be related to US trade policy, global value chains, border issues, and international institutions.

Schedule: This is a full-time staff position at the Mosbacher Institute’s office located at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. A typical workday schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the office space provided.
Grant Funded: This position is for two years. It is funded by non-appropriated sources. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funds.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Appropriate PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in a social science discipline, preferably economics, that links to Policy Analysis, Public Policy, International Economics, and Labor Economics with demonstrated ability to link to policy issues and application of appropriate research methods
Experience with analyzing data, especially dealing with trade, global supply chains, or labor markets
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of statistical research methods and analysis of data using a variety of multivariate and multilevel techniques
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based, multidisciplinary environment
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Responsibilities
Research Publications: Participate in preparation of scholarly publications, presentations, and research reports based on appropriate application of theories and analysis of the research data.
Research Field Support: Contribute to the design of the research. As needed, assist in data collection, coding of data, and maintenance of research records and databases.
Training Graduate Student Workers: Collaborate with and oversee Bush School students on research projects, clearly explain research needs, and train in necessary data collection, coding of data, and data maintenance.
