Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our team. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, operating forklifts in a rough terrain environment, and performing physically demanding tasks. This is a Monday to Friday position with shifts from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, which may change to a 2:30 PM start time in the future. Overtime is minimal but may be required, and Saturday work is voluntary.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts in an outdoor yard environment with rough terrain.

• Load and unload trucks with lumber products.

• Stage products for the lumber mill.

• Write and read tickets to ensure accurate order picking and product pulling.

• Engage in heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling tasks, often requiring buddy lifts.

• Work in a primarily Spanish-speaking environment.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of consistent forklift operating experience.

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.

• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Experience driving forklifts on rough terrain.

• Basic English reading and writing skills for ticketing tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Interest in a long-term position, though seasonal applicants will also be considered.

• Bilingual abilities, especially Spanish, are a plus.

• Prior experience in a mill or lumber yard is advantageous.

Work Environment

This role takes place in an industrial lumber yard, involving both warehouse and outdoor work. Employees must provide their own steel-toed work boots, but a $150 allowance for safety shoes is provided upon conversion to full-time employment. The environment can be physically demanding and requires working in various weather conditions, including sun, wind, rain, dust, and mud.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cloverdale, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
