The team you will be a part of:

The Manufacturing Maintenance team plans, prioritizes and manages technical service activities to ensure that the team's resources are used effectively and that customer service agreements are fulfilled. Develops, evaluates and reviews technical service procedures and standards. Monitors the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending and achieve timeliness, reliability and customer satisfaction standards.

This role in summary:

The Senior Manager of Manufacturing Maintenance will lead the maintenance team in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all manufacturing equipment, tooling, facilities, and controls systems. This role is critical in optimizing production processes, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, including expertise in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leadership and Management:

Lead and manage a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and other staff.

Develop and implement maintenance strategies and plans to ensure the efficient operation of manufacturing equipment, tooling, facilities, and controls systems.

Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for maintenance staff.

Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Maintenance Operations:

Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.

Ensure timely and effective response to equipment, tooling, facilities, and controls systems failures and breakdowns.

Manage spare parts inventory and ensure the availability of critical components.

Coordinate with production, engineering, and other departments to prioritize maintenance activities and support operational goals.

Planning and Budgeting:

Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including labor, materials, and capital expenditures.

Monitor maintenance costs and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.

Plan and schedule major maintenance projects, shutdowns, and overhauls.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.

Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures.

Continuous Improvement and WCM:

Lead the Professional Maintenance Pillar (7 Steps of PM methodology)

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in maintenance management.

Utilize World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles to drive maintenance excellence and operational efficiency.

Use data and metrics to drive decision-making and track maintenance performance.

Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to support lean manufacturing, WCM, and other improvement initiatives.

Controls Engineering:

Oversee the maintenance and optimization of controls systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and automation systems.

Collaborate with controls engineers to ensure reliable and efficient operation of automated equipment.

Implement and maintain control system standards and best practices.

Tooling and Facilities Management:

Manage the maintenance and repair of tooling, ensuring high precision and functionality.

Oversee the upkeep and improvement of facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building infrastructure.

Ensure the manufacturing environment supports production requirements and safety standards.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment, and 5+ years in a leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems, preventive and predictive maintenance practices, and lean manufacturing principle

  • Expertise in controls engineering and systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and automation systems

  • Demonstrated experience with tooling maintenance and facilities management

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including walking, standing, and occasional lifting

  • Availability to respond to emergencies and work outside regular business hours as needed

Preferred skills and experiences:

  • Master's degree

  • Proven experience with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies

  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions

  • Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and other relevant software

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial performance
