HVAC Temperature Controls Technician II

When we do everything in service of our patients and caregivers, no detail gets ignored. On our facilities team, your job will be to create a comfortable and safe environment - just like our patients have come to expect. You'll gain experience working on a wide range of projects and HVAC systems throughout our facilities, train with the newest technology, and receive guidance from fellow caregivers and management.

A caregiver in this position works four 10-hour shifts from 8:00PM - 6:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Inspect, repair, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment throughout the facility. This includes chiller systems, reheat systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), air handling units (AHU), humidifiers, dampers, heating and cooling coils, cooling towers, and pumps.

  • Document and maintain records of inspections and work performed.

  • Inspect and maintain all temperature, humidity, and data logging devices, including meters and gauges.

  • Utilize the building management system (BMS) to address customer service requests, adjust temperature set points, and start and stop equipment.

  • Receive and respond to work orders from the computerized maintenance management system.

  • Respond to alarms and alerts appropriately.

  • Work at additional Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

  • Three years of experience with chiller systems, reheat systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), air handling units (AHU), humidifiers, dampers, heating and cooling coils, cooling towers, and/or pumps OR military experience as a Utilitiesman (UT), Machinists Mate (MM), HVAC/R (3E1X1), Utilities Equipment Repairer (91C) or a similar role.

  • Understanding of the tools and techniques used to maintain, diagnose and repair HVAC systems.

  • Basic knowledge of building management systems.

  • Ability to read blueprints.
