Fairview Hospital is part of the Integrated Network Cancer Program and has been awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award by the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer. This role will cover Breast Surgery, Radiation, MedOnc, Chemo, GYN, and Urology.

A caregiver in this position works Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4pm. There may be times they need to stay until 6pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Oversee nursing personnel and patient care providers in the clinical setting.

• Coordinate activities to ensure quality and safe patient care.

• Anticipate and resolve patient care and personnel issues.

• In conjunction with the clinical manager, assures maintenance of annual staff competencies and continuing education.

• Perform duties of the RN Ambulatory as needed.

• Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transition of care.

• Participate and/or coordinate committees, task forces, and continuous improvement activities.

• Participate in department leadership meetings.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety initiatives.

• Assume responsibilities of the clinical manager as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Two years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse required. Previous supervisory experience

• Oncology experience

• Prior leadership experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

• May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
