Savencia Cheese USA Maintenance Manager in City of Industry, California
Summary/Objective
This position manages and assists in the completion of the day-to-day activities, including improving maintenance, automation, and manufacturing processes and developing the maintenance team for optimum efficiency. The Maintenance Manager will lead preventative and autonomous maintenance processes through continuous improvement.
Essential Functions

Directly supervises the maintenance team
Direct the maintenance of physical assets of the plant to insure continued operation and attainment of line effectiveness, yields and costs
Direct the maintenance of building structures and facilities in including utilities
Manage and support any/all plant equipment, product trials, new installations and engineering projects
Provide guidance, training, tools and resources to the entire maintenance team
Develop PM program and implement.
Stay, up to date on all Work Orders and PM’s.
Proper documentation and records must be implemented and maintained for Work Orders and PM’s
Develop and maintain Parts list, Parts inventory of all Plant Equipment.
Support the operations team in reviewing operating standards, line speeds, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yields and identify improvement opportunities
Develop long-term predictive and preventive plans to improve equipment sustainability, and attainment of line effectiveness, yields and competitive costs Manage maintenance to ensure optimized and competitive costs
Ensure compliance with all company, city, state and federal regulations
Ensure compliance to Safety, preventative maintenance policies and procedures
Conduct routine team meetings (daily/weekly/monthly as applicable), including continuous improvement routine meeting participation
Ensure efficient, safe and compliant operation of plant facilities; to include electrical, ammonia, steam, water and wastewater functions
Maintain documentation and performance logs of employees
Provide yearly reviews for employees
Maintain the timekeeping system (Kronos) for the department and SAP
Maintain regular, predictable attendance
Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises all employees of the maintenance department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department (approximately 7 employees).
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The employee works in a humid and wet environment at times and could also be exposed to cold conditions in the coolers.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use fingers to type. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must occasionally lift or move items up to or over 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
This position requires <10% travel. Occasionally travel is outside the local area and overnight.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma, Technical School or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial plant maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing environment
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership capacity
Ability to use basic shop mathematics, handbook formulas, interpret simple blueprints and drawings, and use a wide variety of tools or precision measuring instruments
Ability to setup, re-tool, operate somewhat complex machines
Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and pneumatic systems
Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems
Inventory control experience
Preventative and predictive Maintenance experience
Computer proficiency
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Food Processing related area or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required;
Demonstrated technical aptitude and strong experience with fluid mechanics, refrigeration (ammonia systems), heat transfer process, building/plant construction and new equipment installation with sanitary design of USDA/3A sanitary design principles, OSHA, EPA and related regulations, industrial best practices engineering principles
Experience with wastewater management systems
Pay Range:
$120-130K
