Ecological Project Manager Job Locations US-OH-Cincinnati Category Ecological Services Type Full-Time Overview As an Ecological Project Manager with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll lead project teams navigating today's complex environmental regulatory landscape on a wide variety of exciting projects. Working with clients, contractors, and government officials, you will be involved in the entire project from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction. You will lead all aspects of a project by writing proposals, managing budgets and schedules, mentoring and directing staff, developing new and existing client relationships, interacting with regulatory agencies, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory landscape. Projects will/may include any of the following areas: wetland and stream assessments and delineations; mitigation; threatened & endangered species habitat assessments; federal, state, county and local permitting; natural stream channel and wetland restoration design; construction oversight and monitoring; and, erosion and sedimentation compliance monitoring. Qualifications BA. or B.S. in a natural sciences field (e.g., Biology, Natural Resources, Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Ecology, and Geography); 5+ years of experience in ecological fieldwork, environmental permitting and reporting or other related activities; Demonstrated experience performing wetland and waters field delineations and/or geomorphic surveys; Demonstrated understanding of State and Federal permitting and regulations from agencies such as EPA, US Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, USFWS, SHPO, DNR/DEQ, etc.; Review and preparation of technical reports and permit documents; Ability to provide technical expertise, mentor and lead other staff in the ecological practice; and, Attention to detail and high-quality communications needed to manage multiple activities and collaborate with teams of technical professionals in other disciplines to execute complex multi-discipline projects. Additional / Preferred Qualifications 40-Hour Wetland delineation training or equivalent; ORAM, QHEI/HHEI, SQT training; GIS or CAD experience; Watershed planning or grant writing experience; Established business and client network; Rosgen or similar natural channel design training and expertise; Low-tech, process-based restoration (LTPBR) training and experience; PWS, CERP, or similar certification; CPESC or CESSWI certification; Plant identification experience; and, Valid drivers license.
