Job Title: Traveling Superintendent
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Traveling Superintendent to oversee and manage pre-construction tasks, field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers for data center projects. The role involves ensuring project schedules are maintained, budgets are aligned, and quality control plans are implemented. This position requires strong leadership in Lean methodologies, safety, and client relations.
Responsibilities
Manage all pre-construction related tasks including building crisis management plan, schedule, site logistics plan, site-specific rules and regulations, and safety plan.
Oversee field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers engaged in assigned projects. Conduct daily huddles, weekly work plans, job site coordination, and delivery of materials.
Develop, manage, and implement the project schedule, adjusting as necessary. Work closely with the Project Management team to ensure the schedule remains updated.
Collaborate with the Project Management team throughout the project, including selecting subcontractors, writing RFIs, and tracking procurement of materials, tools, and equipment.
Work with the Quality Control team to ensure project-specific requirements are met. Implement site-specific Quality Control plans with the QC department and Project Management.
Ensure all on-site documentation, including drawings, logs, and inspection books, are updated and current. Assist in the documentation of As-Built drawings.
Align the project budget for labor, materials, and equipment with the Project Management team. Assess weekly/monthly cost projections and expenditures.
Ensure all project closeout tasks are completed, including punch list execution, commissioning, final inspections, and owner training.
Provide leadership for the project team in Lean methodologies, standard work, and Pull-Plan sessions.
Drive a safe environment by leading job safety meetings and orientations. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other required rules and regulations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
Support and follow standard work.
Participate in and support the implementation of Lean and continuous improvement culture.
Essential Skills
10+ years of experience in construction management, preferably in data centers.
Strong project management, commercial construction, and estimation experience.
Experience with subcontractors and managing large or complex projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in healthcare, education, manufacturing, or large commercial projects.
Proficiency in Procore or equivalent project management software.
Work Environment
This role is primarily on-site, involving direct interaction with project teams, subcontractors, and clients. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and may involve travel to various project locations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
McGough has all Benefits, between bonus, 401K, Per Diem, Holidy, PTO, as well as a schedule that allows you to go home for a 4-5 day break one time per month
