Robert Half Senior Project Manager in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Project Manager in Chicago, Illinois. This role operates remotely, providing flexibility in your working hours. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be managing a variety of complex business projects, ensuring high-quality execution and delivery, and establishing effective communication with cross-functional partners, key stakeholders, and external customers.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of a portfolio of business projects, ensuring they are completed within the defined scope, schedule, cost, and quality.

• Develop comprehensive project plans and proactively manage project schedules, risks, issues, resources, cost, and quality.

• Understand the technical aspects and desired business outcomes of the project to troubleshoot issues and drive results.

• Plan, manage and allocate resources effectively to achieve successful project execution and delivery.

• Serve as a liaison between business and IT regarding requirements and change management.

• Provide leadership and decision-making support by establishing project governance.

• Conduct project reporting, including regular stakeholder status reports and overall performance of the project.

• Communicate effectively with cross-functional partners, key stakeholders, and external customers on status, risks, and accomplishments to ensure alignment with the overall project goals.

• Directly address quality issues with the team and communicate proactively with stakeholders on long-term resolution.

• Guide the project team and senior stakeholders, keeping them updated with the project progress. Requirements • Proficient in Communication, able to clearly articulate project goals and status with team members and stakeholders.

• Skilled in Documentation, to accurately record project details, decisions, and changes.

• Capable of comprehensive Reporting to keep all relevant parties informed about project progress and issues.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Demonstrated skill in Planning and executing complex, multi-faceted projects.

• Familiar with Budget Processes, able to develop and manage project budgets effectively.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word for creating project-related documents and reports.

• Consistently maintains Quality standards in all aspects of project management.

• Extensive experience in Project Management, preferably within the Insurance industry.

• Familiar with the About Time project management system.

• Strong Leadership Skills, capable of motivating and guiding a team towards project completion.

• Ability to Troubleshoot and solve project-related problems quickly and effectively.

• Experience in Budgeting, with a focus on cost control and financial efficiency.

• Skilled at acting as a Liaison between different teams and stakeholders.

• Proficient in Forecasting project needs and potential issues.

• Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint for presenting project updates and outcomes.

• Background in Engineering, to understand technical aspects of projects.

• Demonstrated skill in Optimization, to improve project efficiency and outcomes.

• Committed to Customer Satisfaction, ensuring project outcomes meet or exceed expectations.

• Experience in managing Stakeholders' expectations and building strong relationships.

• Able to collaborate effectively with Partners to achieve project objectives.

• Experience with Agile project management methodology.

• Skilled in Change Management, to navigate project adjustments effectively.

• Familiarity with various Project Management Methodologies and the ability to choose the most suitable one for each project.
