Job Description
SGS Maine Pointe is seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations/Manufacturing Consultant with extensive implementation expertise to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for an individual who has a strong background in operations and manufacturing consulting, with the ability to oversee the implementation of operational strategies, systems, and process improvements within manufacturing environments. You will collaborate closely with clients to optimize their manufacturing operations, driving efficiency, cost reduction, and overall operational excellence. This role will require extensive travelling - up to 90/100%.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Operations Strategy & Consulting:
- Provide strategic insights to clients on optimizing manufacturing operations, improving production efficiency, and reducing costs.
- Analyze and assess current manufacturing processes, workflows, and systems, identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop tailored solutions based on best practices and industry standards to address specific manufacturing challenges.
- Support clients in scaling their operations, improving capacity, and enhancing product quality.
Implementation & Project Management:
- Lead end-to-end project implementation for manufacturing systems, including new technology deployments (ERP, MES, automation tools) and process optimization.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with client objectives and timelines.
- Oversee resource allocation, risk management, and troubleshooting during the implementation phase.
- Monitor the implementation process and provide timely updates to stakeholders to ensure project success.
Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing:
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational improvement methodologies to streamline manufacturing processes and reduce waste.
- Lead initiatives such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, Kaizen, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to improve operational efficiency.
- Design and implement data-driven solutions to improve manufacturing productivity and quality.
Stakeholder & Client Management:
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in client organizations, including senior leadership, operations teams, and production staff.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the implementation process.
- Develop and deliver presentations and reports to senior management, summarizing project progress, key findings, and recommendations.
Change Management & Training:
- Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, tools, and technologies.
- Design and execute training programs for manufacturing teams to ensure they are equipped to adopt and sustain new processes and systems.
- Provide post-implementation support to ensure continuous improvement and address any challenges that arise after project completion.
Data Analysis & Performance Metrics:
- Use data analytics to evaluate performance metrics and ensure that operational improvements deliver measurable results.
- Provide ongoing assessments of key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective actions if necessary.
Mentorship & Leadership:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior consultants and internal team members on project delivery and client engagement.
- Foster a collaborative, results-driven environment by encouraging knowledge-sharing and continuous learning.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor\'s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field. A Master\'s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP) is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in operations and manufacturing consulting, with at least 3 years of experience managing or leading large-scale implementation projects.
Proven track record of delivering successful manufacturing operations improvements, including process optimization, technology implementation, and cost reduction initiatives.
