Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading operational data analysis, partnering with diverse group of hub, region, and operational leaders at all levels of the organization. Improve decision-making by transforming data into actionable insights related to process, efficiency, critical initiatives, program management, operational performance, efficiency, and reliability and then by embedding those insights into the company’s operations. Plays a key role in identifying critical business KPIs, uncovering trends and root causes, and applying data to drive operational improvement.

  • Lead and contribute to the development of high-quality visual presentations, ad hoc analyses, dashboards, tools, and reports for teams both within and outside of United Express. Communicate updates and actionable outcomes with easy-to-interpret visualizations and practical recommendations to all levels of leadership.

  • Analyze performance trends within hubs, regions, and at a system level with Airport Operations to determine trends; use this data to report out to senior leadership across UA, UAX Flying Partners and service provider partners in the operation.

  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to understand organization needs, build solutions, set metrics, integrate data insights to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

  • Translate business requirements or problems into a comprehensive analytical framework using modeling / statistical techniques and business knowledge to generate actionable insights into drivers of operational performance. This includes managing all data and business intelligence requirements from end-to-end, ensuring insights are effectively coordinated into operational processes. Focus is on optimizing key areas such as reliability, planning, and execution.

  • Detail the United Express data landscape, maintain an inventory of reports, and plan for report consolidation, elimination, and/or improvement

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Operations, Statistics, Engineering, or other Quantitative/Analytical subject area

  • 4+ years airline experience

  • 2+ years analytical experience

  • Strong understanding of airport operations (above and below the wing)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work cross-functionally

  • Data visualization skills using one or more reporting tools (i.e. Spotfire, Tableau, PowerBI, ThinkCell, etc.)

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 2+ years in an operational group such as the Airport Operations, SOC, NOC, Inflight, Flight Ops, Tech Ops

  • Proficiency writing complex queries and procedures (i.e. SQL, Python, Foundry, etc.)

  • Experience in process improvement

The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
